If you're heading to the US or Canada, you'll likely need your CGPA converted to a GPA out of 4.0, since that's the scale most admissions committees actually read. If you're applying to the UK, you're dealing with a completely different idea altogether — degree classifications like First Class or 2:1 — and if Germany is on your list, you're working with a reversed scale where 1.0 is the best grade you can get.
